WE LEAD
Leadership & Communication Program

WE LEAD is I Am Young Power’s core youth leadership curriculum where young leaders take charge of their own development journey. Each YP Member is given the opportunity to lead their own sessions, coordinate events, and host activities, cultivating a generation of confident and capable leaders. Central to WE LEAD is effective communication, facilitated by mentors from notable organizations such as Toastmasters International. All YP Members participate in this program.

Core Competencies:

Leadership Sessions:
YP Members lead and facilitate sessions on various leadership topics. These sessions focus on practical leadership skills, personal development, and community engagement.

Key Activities:

• Designing and presenting workshops
• Leading group discussions
• Organizing events to include, but limited to, leadership panels and guest speaker events

Community Initiatives:
YP Members plan and execute community projects that address local needs and issues. These initiatives foster a sense of responsibility and community engagement.

Key Activities:

• Identifying community needs through surveys and research
• Planning and organizing community service projects
• Reflecting on project outcomes and personal growth

Communication Mentorship:
YP Members will be paired with mentors from Toastmasters International who provide guidance and coaching on communication and leadership development.

Key Activities:

• Regular mentoring sessions
• Public speaking and presentation workshops
• Feedback and evaluation sessions

Personal Development:
Participants engage in activities that promote self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth. This component emphasizes the importance of emotional intelligence and self-leadership.

Key Activities:

• Self-assessment and goal-setting exercises
• Workshops on stress management and resilience
• Activities to build empathy and authentic leadership

Expected Outcomes

I Am Young Power's WE LEAD program is designed to profoundly impact each member by enhancing their public speaking and presentation skills, allowing them to communicate more effectively and confidently in various settings. Additionally, the program aids in improvement of their leadership and project management abilities, equipping them with the tools necessary to lead and execute projects successfully. YP Members also experience a notable increase in self-confidence and emotional intelligence, empowering them to navigate personal and professional challenges with greater resilience. Furthermore, the program fosters stronger community engagement and impact, inspiring each YP Member to take active roles in their communities and drive meaningful change.
